Visual identity for Arab Cinema Week by Cinema Akil. The festival programme includes stories and talent from and about the Arab world. For the inaugural edition, the approach to the visual identity came from a desire to look through a post-colonial curtain into an Arab world that floats in an imagined Arabfuturist stratosphere.
For the second edition of the film week, we build upon the first edition's world of imagined futures, as well as this edition’s theme of “On Human Bonds". Cues from Ibn Al-Haitham's anatomical manuscript of the eye, folktale lanterns, grand urban timepieces and navigational devices all crystallize into a singular celestial body.
